Mitesh Thakker, JBIMS Batch of 2011
As I am writing this I know that there are only few months left for the CET and all of you who are reading this must have prepared a lot for the various B school entrance exams and now the final one CET.
First of all I want to clear the myth which many of us had and many of you might be having that CET is a simple exams and is easy to crack but it’s an exam where cutoff’s are skyrocketing every year and you have to prepare and perform exceptionally to get in to Bajaj.
So few things which I did before my CET and might be of some use to all of you.
1) Solve and analyze papers: Solve as many mock CET papers as you can and that’s the only key to success in CET. Also give as much time as you give for solving and perhaps more importance to analysis of the paper you solved. Solving one paper a day for last 15 days would be a good idea.
2) Speed: I am a strong believer that to crack CET speed is more critical than accuracy. If you want to get in to Bajaj 180+ attempt is must. So first make sure to meet this target consistently and then improve accuracy.
3) Calculations: Do not try to calculate the answer accurately till the last decimal point that’s the real waste of time. Do approximations wherever you can and that will improve your accuracy in DI which is the section where accuracy is very high so if you can improve your speed by 10 to 20% your score will go up by 5 to 10 marks.
4) Visual reasoning: Beware of visual reasoning. VR is the unique feature of CET and lot of students do not prepare for it adequately and hence either spend more time on these problems or leave the problems. Solve as many problems as you can so that your mind is tuned to analyzing the sequence or trends in these problems and they could make difference between getting in to Bajaj and any other B School. Keep your cool on the D-day and be conscious of time while solving the paper and whenever you get tensed use Aamir’s “Aal izz Well”.............. :)
Finally, I will sign off by saying work hard and believe in your efforts. Divine help will definitely come if you have worked hard and you will be able to crack CET and make it to Bajaj.
All the very best!!!!!!!
